Retuning Books

The borrowed books can be returned to any of the University of Tsukuba Libraries.
When the library is open → to the return counter (main counter)
When the library is closed → to the book-drop (near the library entrance)
However, AV materials (DVDs etc.) must be returned to the main counter of the original library to prevent damage.

Overdue Penalty

• If you have even one overdue item, you will be suspended from borrowing, renewing, placing reservations, and requesting materials.
• The penalty period is equal to the longest overdue period and begins the day after all overdue items have been returned.

You can check your overdue status on My Library.

Email Service

We will notify you by email in the following cases:

• 2 days before the due date: Reminder email
• After the due date has passed: Overdue notice
• When a reserved or requested item becomes available: Notification email

If you have a university email address (@u.tsukuba.ac.jp or @un.tsukuba.ac.jp), it is set automatically.
If you don't receive emails, you can add your address in “My Library” settings.
Please note: Emails are sent automatically, but may not arrive due to network issues. Please check your due dates in "My Library."
