Temporary Suspension of Materials and Facilities due to Electrical Installation (Central Library, Nov.18-Dec.14)

The Central Library is scheduled to undergo electrical facility repair work by the University's Facilities Department from November 18 (Mon.).
Due to the construction, there will be a period during which each area of the Central Library will be unavailable for use.
During this period, materials and facilities in the areas will not be available. Also, entry to the area will be prohibited.
The period of inaccessibility is 3 to 4 days for each area, but we ask that you please use the materials you wish to use as soon as possible.

Soundproof Booths (Seminar Room E, Talkable Booth 1) Installed in the Central Library

Seminar Room E, a soundproof booth for four persons, and Talkable Booth 1, a soundproof booth for one person, were installed near the newspaper reading area on the second floor of the Central Library.
We encourage you to utilize these booths for activities such as online classes, web meetings, and research interviews.
Reservations can be made from My Library one week prior to the desired date.

Seminar Room E
This room is a soundproof booth for 2-4 people. It is recommended for small classes, research interviews, etc.

Construction Alert: Noise and Vibration due to the Installation of Soundproof Booths (Central Library Nov. 5)

On Tuesday, November 5, soundproof booths (one for one person and one for four people) will be set up near the newspaper area on the second floor of the main building of the Central Library.
Noise and vibration will be generated as a result of the work. We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.
Additionally, expect some worker movement and noise in other areas during construction.

Dates: Tuesday, November 5, 2024, 10:00-17:00 (tentative)
Location: Central Library, 2nd floor of the main building, newspaper area

Construction Alert: Noise and Vibration from Book Stacks on 4th Floor of Annex(Central Library, Starting Nov. 1st)

Starting November 1st, construction will begin on the 4th floor of the Central Library Annex to expand the collection stacks.
Please be aware that noise and vibrations may occur.
We would appreciate it if those who are sensitive to noise could avoid using the 4th floor during this time.
We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.

Installation of Talkable Booths at Chuo and Otsuka Libraries (Chuo: from Nov. 6; Otsuka: from Nov. 27)

We are excited to announce the installation of talkable booths in the Central Library and Otsuka Library this November, aimed at creating new learning spaces. We encourage you to utilize these booths for activities such as online classes, web meetings, and research interviews.

In the Central Library and Otsuka Library, there will be a booth designed for individual use, and Seminar Room E in the Central Library will feature a booth that accommodates four people. The availability dates for using these facilities are scheduled as follows:

Restriction on the use of some materials on new bldg. 3F and 4F floors of the Central Library

Due to the construction of additional compact shelving on the 3rd and 4th floors of the new Central Library, some materials will be temporarily unavailable for use, as detailed in the attached document.
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause during the construction period.
This project aims to resolve the issue of overcrowded shelving and improve the accessibility of materials, and we appreciate your understanding.
