As part of the 30th anniversary of University of Tsukuba Library Volunteer, we are holding an exhibition of posters from the Art and Physical Education Library collection, "はじめの一枚・はじまりの一枚".

Overview

In the Art and Physical Education Library, volunteers organize, post, and enter data on exhibition posters, and the results are made available to the public as the "Exhibition Poster Database" (approximately 11,000 pieces of data as of May 26, 2025).

This time, from the posters that have been sent so far, we will be exhibiting the first posters that arrived at the Art and Physical Education Library from the six art museums in Ibaraki Prefecture that sent the most posters, as well as posters for the opening commemorative exhibition of those museums. Also on display will be the first poster ever entered into data at the Art and Physical Education Library (from an exhibition held at the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum in 1980), as well as the poster of the "A&PE Library Poster Exhibition" held at the Art and Physical Education Library in 2003.

In addition to the exhibition posters, we are also displaying some of the exhibition catalogs from each art museum that are held in the Art and Physical Education Library. (Available for loan)
