How to Search the Database
Free Word Search
You can search by keywords such as artist names, exhibition titles, museum names, or artwork titles. Use half-width spaces to perform an "AND" search.
💡 Note: The searchable data is based on the text printed on the posters. English translations are not provided.
For artist names, searching by last name only (e.g., “北斎” or “広重”) often yields more results than using the full name.
Search by Year
You can browse exhibitions by the year they were held.
Search by Genre
You can browse by genre, including:
- Japanese and East Asian painting
- Western painting
- Sculpture
- Printmaking
- Calligraphy
- Crafts
- Ceramics
- Photography
- Manga, illustrations, and children's art
- Graphic design
Other genres are categorized as Other, while mixed-media exhibitions and installations are classified under General Art.
Example Search Result: "ピカソ"
