Access to Tsukuba Station (Tsukuba Center)

• Arriving by Train
  • Tsukuba Express
    • Get on the Tsukuba Express and get off at the final stop, Tsukuba station.
      （45 to 57 minutes from Akihabara station)
  • By JR Joban Line
    • Take the JR Joban Line and get off at one of the following stations; Hitachinoushiku station, Arakawaoki station, Tsuchiura station.
    • From the station transfer to a Kanto Railway Co. bus (“Kantetsu Bus”) bound for either Tsukuba Center or Tsukuba Daigaku Chuo (University of Tsukuba Central).
      （If you board a bus bound for Tsukuba Daigaku Chuo (University of Tsukuba Central), there is no need to transfer at Tsukuba Center.）
• Arriving by Highway Bus
  • From the Yaesu South entrance of Tokyo station, board ahighway bus bound for University of Tsukuba (Tsukuba Daigaku) or Tsukuba Center. Get off at the bus stop closest to the library, or at Tsukuba Center (about 65 to 90 minutes).
  • Buses are available from Haneda Airport, Narita Airport, Ibaraki Airport, Mito station, Osaka station, and Kyoto station.

  • Tsuchiura / Tsukuba - Narita Airport route
  • Ibaraki Airport - Tsukuba route
  • Mito station - Tsuchiura / Tsukuba route

Directions from Tsukuba Station (Tsukuba Center) to University of Tsukuba Library (Central Library)

• When exiting from the A3 exit of Tsukuba station, the No. 6 bus stop will be at the far right. (If you use the elevator, when you get off the elevator next to the A3 exit, the No.6 stop is on the left.) Board a Kanto Railway Co. bus (“Kantetsu Bus”); either Tsukuba Daigaku Junkan, Migi-Mawari (University of Tsukuba Loop, clockwise) route or a bus bound for Tsukuba Daigaku Chuo (University of Tsukuba Central).
• Get off at Dai-Ichi Area Mae (Area 1). 10 to 15 minutes from Tsukuba Center. If you take the highway bus bound for University of Tsukuba, you can get off at the final stop.

• Get off at Dai-Ichi Area Mae (Area 1), 10 to 15 minutes from Tsukuba Center. Trun right and cross the road. You can see brown building on the front left: the Central Library. (1)
• Go up the bridge on the front. The stairs are located in back under the bridge. (2)
• On the left, there is entrance of Central Library. (3)

• When you get off Tsukuba Daigaku bus stop, go up the bridge.
• Go to the right (across the road), the slope getting off to ground.
• Following the road, turn the right at the building, there are the stairs to up.
• Go up the stairs, there is the Central Library on the front left.

Notes

• There is no parking lot for the University of Tsukuba Library. Parking on the university campus is limited. Using public transportation when visiting the library is recommended.
• If you must come by car, refer to the Access Route Map, and stop at the Main Gate (Chuo-guchi) Information Centernear the Administration Center to inform them that you will be visiting the Central Library, and receive instructions about where to park.
  The walk from the indicated parking lot to the Central Library may be about 10 minutes.
