The special exhibition 2024 "Unity of Loyalty and Filial Piety : Morality in the Edo Period " is held at the Central Library.
The exhibition introduces how Confucian concepts like 'loyalty' and 'filial piety' influenced the people of the Edo period.
This exhibition will focus on the following four aspects:
Part 1: Imperialism - 'Joukan Seiyou' and 'Teikan Zusetsu', Part 2: 'Kokyo' and East Asian Biographies of Filial Piety, Part 3: Local Biographies of Filial Piety, and Part 4: Education in the Edo Period - Clan Schools and Terakoya.
