SpringerOpen and BioMed Central APC discount coupon code available (updated May 8th)

 Springer Japan KK has issued the coupon codes for the member organizations of JUSTICE Consortium subscribing to 2015 SpringerLink Journals. It offers 10% discount of APC (article processing charge).
 APC is an equivalent of manuscript submission fee. Researchers choosing to submit articles to Open Access journals (freely availabile on the public internet) may be required to pay.

※From May 2015, the coupon code can be used for Chemistry Central Journals, too.

Oxford English Dictionary Online Trial Now Available

We currently have an institution-wide trial of the Oxford English Dictionary(OED) online.

The OED Online is the most authoritative and comprehensive record of the English language in the world, tracing the evolution and use of more than 600,000 words through over 3 million quotations.

We thank you very much for your continuous support for our University Library activities.  The Standing Committee for Research on Academic Libraries (SCREAL) and Japanese Coordinating Committee for University Libraries request your contribution to this survey they are conducting.

The survey will help us understand how extensively e-journals and other electronic resources are currently being used by researchers and graduate students for their work, and we urge everyone to complete this brief questionnaire.

Notice of Emergency Disaster Drill at the University of Tsukuba(November 19th)

Emergency Disaster Drill will be held on Nov. 19th, Wednesday at the University of Tsukuba.
Library users are supposed to evacuate to the nearest outdoor evacuation site according to the Library staff's instructions.
During the drill, you cannnot enter the Library.
All of the service counters will be closed until the end of the drill.

Support for SSL 3.0 vulnerability (To the mobile page users)

Vulnerability in SSL 3.0 could allow information disclosure.
We are planning to invalidate the SSL3.0 protocol on the University Library Web site(TULIPS).

After SSL 3.0 is disabled, you can access the University Library Web site with your PC, tablet, or smartphone.
If you use a kind of mobile phones (feature phones), you will not be able to use the authentication service in the University Library Web site(mobile page).
